Abstract

The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) sets out internationally acceptable standards and procedures for achieving equal rights for women. SINDISO NGABA believes the Government's commitment to equality will be meaningless unless CEDAW is ratified. She says the Government must accede without reservation and carry out its obligations to eliminate discrimination against women in South Africa
