Abstract
Specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, and resistivity data is presented which suggests that the heavy fermion phenomenon in Ce systems corresponds to the nearly trivalent limit of the mixed valence behavior. This correspondence holds for both heavy fermion lattices and diluted heavy fermion systems.
