Abstract

Montmorillonites intercalated with Ce−Al pillars were synthesized. It was found that the precursor of cerium and aluminum determined the presence of Ce−Al mixed oxide pillars. The catalytic performance in the 2-propanol conversion of the various samples is discussed in terms of the catalyst structure. It was found that the surface features of these interlayered materials are different from those of large ceria−alumina particles.
