Abstract
AbstractThe emission properties of CdSe/ZnSe quantum dots embedded in high‐Q all‐epitaxial ZnSe‐based pillar microcavities are studied. Temperature variable experiments show a strong enhancement of the detected photoluminescence signal of single quantum dots when tuned in resonance with modes of the cavity. The Purcell effect is reflected in a pronounced enhancement of the spontaneous emission rate of quantum dots coupling to the fundamental modes of the cavities. The dependence of the enhancement on the pillar diameter is discussed in detail. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
