Abstract CCD photometry obtained from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in (V,B-V) is presented for the sparse globular cluster Palomar 15. The data extend to a limit V of about 24, just sufficient to reach the main-sequence turnoff. Comparative matching to other moderately metal-poor globular clusters suggests that it has a basically normal CMD morphology for this metallicity (blue-horizontal branch, moderately steep giant and subgiant branches), and an age of about 14 Gy if fitted to oxygen-enhanced isochrones. The present data confirm the surprisingly high reddening of E(B-V) = 0.40 found in a previous study by Seitzer & Carney (1990). Palomar 15 appears to contain a significant number of blue stragglers; about six are visible in a rough sequence forming a luminous upward extension of the main sequence. The cluster is about 36 kpc distant from the Galactic center and thus lies near the outer edge of the normal halo-cluster region; its structural parameters suggest that it is experiencing tidal truncation and dissolution into the field.
