Abstract

Unlike federal mental health legislation that often materializes only after months or years of advocacy, the provisions of the newly signed Bipartisan Safer Communities Act all but fell into the lap of the mental health community last month. That it took another high‐profile act of gun violence (the Uvalde, Texas school shooting) for this to happen isn't generally dampening advocates' enthusiasm over the new legislation.
