Abstract

In this paper, we propose a small-sized self-oscillating active antenna directly integrated microwave FET oscillator operating in C-band. A bended monopole lies over a truncated ground plane. One of ends directly connects to drain terminal of FET, other connects to gate terminal via weak-coupling gap. It forms a feedback loop circuit approximately. Characteristics of passive antenna and oscillator have been obtained using simulators. The proposed active antenna operates at 5.05 GHz. The passive antenna has end-fire radiating direction and 2.31 dBi realized gain. The output power spectrum shows that fundamental frequency has 10.1dBm power level.
