Abstract

Disc seal planar triodes are the most attractive devices for high power transmitters in L-band because of its reliability to achieve the high powers as an oscillator or amplifier. The present paper discusses the design aspects of the planar triode as an amplifier. Stress has been laid on the engineering aspects of the design. Problems encountered in cascading of cavity amplifiers is also discussed.
