Abstract

To be able to carry out a successful sociological analysis of the most fundamental social causes of the instability in Yugoslav society, which has already lasted a long time and reached its culmination last year, it is essential to being with as adequate a diagnosis as possible of the overall condition of society. We have rather one-sidedly and even superficially described this situation as one of economic instability and reduced the whole political problem to one of finding an economic stabilization policy. No matter to how much economic instability has appeared in current circumstances as the most visible and probably the most important manifestation of the general condition of Yugoslavia's social system, it is sociologically inadmissible to simply limit oneself to such a view of the overall social situation.
