AbstractAlthough usually mild and self‐limiting, acute diarrhoea in some patients will require early medical intervention or even hospitalisation. In our Drug review, the authors discuss the aetiology and recommended management of acute diarrhoea, followed by a review of the prescription data and sources of further information.
