Abstract

Recent investigations have revealed that the Bhabha-Gupta ( mixed spin- 3 2 − spin- 1 2 ) theory is free of pathologies like acausality of propagation in the presence of minimal electromagnetic coupling as well as a trilinear coupling to a spinor field and scalar field, provided the arbitrary parameters occurring in the Bhabha-Gupta Lagrangian are suitably restricted. We extend the treatment in this paper to show that causality is preserved even when external electromagnetic and gravitational fields are simultaneously present.
