Abstract

“Causalgia of the Heart” examines how new neurological research on phantom limb syndrome illuminates the tropological domain between psychoanalysis and recent affect theory. Through a queer feminist lens, the essay argues that centralizing disabilities studies might dissolve lingering impasses regarding bodies and signification in performance and cultural studies.
