Abstract

Studies about organic fertilization demonstrate the effectiveness of nutrients from organic residues to get improvement of soil attributes. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding cattle manure on soil chemical attributes. The experiment was carried out at an experimental area of the Federal University of Tocantins, Gurupi campus. The experimental design was randomized blocks with three replications. The treatments corresponded to eight rates of cattle manure (2,5; 5; 10; 12,5; 20; 25; 50 and 100 t / ha), consisting of 27 plastic bags of 5 dm³. Occurred increase in levels of O. M., K, P, Ca, CEC, sum of bases and decrease in pH, H + Al was observed on the increase of manure rates when compared to the control. The addition of cattle manure at higher rates resulted in increased soil fertility.
