Abstract

Magic-angle spinning NMR spectra on 6Li in Li 4SiO 4, Li 4.1Al 0.1Si 0.9O 4, and Li 3.7Al 0.1SiO 4 resolve multiple lithium cation sites, and, with increasing temperature, show averaging due to exchange of Li + among sites. These exchange rates predict measured ionic conductivity accurately. Doping with aluminum increases Li mobility significantly.
