Abstract

Cathodoluminescent measurements were conducted to and pair-doped as well as undoped -doped samples mainly gave the characteristic emission of with green color, while in -doped samples, the dominating emission was the blue band that was contributed by the host emission and emission. For and codoped the spectrum mainly consisted of the characteristic emissions of and a strong blue emission; the emissions from appeared very weak. The blue emission of may be understood by using the reduction mechanism and the charge transfer mechanism For the and codoped samples, although the emission was very weak, it still increased with content, this was because the energy transfer from to also occurred. © 2004 The Electrochemical Society.
