Abstract

The results of 2D magnetohydrodynamic calculations of the tungsten cathode erosion in hydrogen at discharge current amplitude above 100 kA are presented. These results are compared with experimental data. The cathode erosion is also calculated for a current pulse with an amplitude higher than 1 MA.
