Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of catheter embolectomy and fibrinolytic treatment on acute superior mesenteric artery embolism.Methods Thirteen cases of acute mesenteric artery embolism were treated with embolectomy and fibrinolytic treatment by catheter method.Results Successful embolectomy and recanalizations were achieved in all of the 13 superior mesenteric arterial embolism,laparotomy for 2 cases,and 1 case underwent resection of necrotic bowel,without any serious complications.Conclusions Catheter embolectomy and fibrinolytic is a simple and effective method for treatment of acute superior mesenteric artery embolism.
