Abstract
A new polymeric copper complex, [Cu2(C6H12N4O2)(C2N3)2]n or [Cu2(oxen)[N(CN)2]2]n [oxenH2 is N,N′-bis(2-aminoethyl)oxamide], has been synthesized and its structure determined by X-ray diffraction methods. In the polymer chain, oxen and dicyanamide (dca) groups both act as bridges to link CuII cations, illustrating the potential of oxen and dca in coordination chemistry and supramolecular polymer chemistry.
