Abstract
AbstractThe categories of principal left(right) ideals of regular semigroups are described as normal categories by Nambooripad [6]. He used these categories to provide an alternate structure theory for regular semigroups different from the biordered set approach [5]. A normal band is a semigroup B satisfying \(a^2=a\) and \(abca=acba\) for all \(a,b,c \in B\). Normal bands are characterised as strong semilattice of rectangular bands.
