Abstract

(Anaesthesia. 2019;74:904–914) Drug administration errors during neuraxial anesthesia can result in dire outcomes. These authors had previously reported on neuraxial drug administration errors, but have since learned of several incidents of accidental intrathecal administration of tranexamic acid during spinal anesthesia. This article reviewed reports of these occurrences, identified contributing factors to the drug errors, and discussed prevention strategies.
