Abstract
AbstractNickel catalysts supported on activated carbon/FSM‐16 nanoparticles were prepared by wet impregnation method and tested for vapor phase selective hydrogenation of benzene in the mixture of aromatics as benzene, toluene and xylene. The textural and physico‐chemical properties of nickel catalysts were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Uv‐visible diffuse reflectance spectra, field emission scanning electron microscope and nitrogen adsorption‐desorption analysis. The catalytic evaluation revealed that the best activity (>94%) and high selectivity (>99%) are related to Ni/AC−F(50) at 150 °C and Ni/AC−F(75) at 130 °C and 150 °C, respectively. In summary, by calculating the yield of benzene, in order to evaluate the performance (activity, stability, and selectivity) of the catalysts, it was found that the performance of Ni/AC−F(75) is very appropriate.
