Abstract

Toluene is one of the major pollutants of indoor air pollution. Acrylonitrile-vinylidene chloride (AN-VDC) copolymer fibers containing activated carbon were wet-spun; and loaded with Cu-Mn oxide complex. The morphology and performance of the fiber was characterized using scanning electronic microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that, Cu-Mn oxide complex is loaded on the surface of the fiber. Cu-Mn oxide complex loaded fibers have a higher removal rate to toluene at room temperature. When the molar ratio of copper manganese reaches 1:5, the removal rate of the fiber is the highest among all, which is up to 81.77% The new material for toluene in indoor air purification has a good theoretical and practical value.
