Abstract
1. Hydrogenation of isoprene in presence of palladium and nickel proceeds, as in the case of hydrogenation in presence of platinum studied previously by Lebedev, as a diene hydrogenation of the second type. 2. For addition of hydrogen in presence of platinum, lower selectivity is observed than in presence of palladium and nickel, which are very similar to one another in this respect. 3. The forms of the hydrogenation rate curves are in no case characteristic of the actual course of the reaction.
