Abstract
1. A Co-clay catalyst is twice as active as a Co-kieselguhr catalyst for the hydropolymerization of ethylene under the action of small amounts of CO in presence of H2. 2. Additions of ThO2, ZrO2, and TiO2 promote a Co-MgO-kieselguhr catalyst. ThO2 and ZrO2 promote, but TiO2 deactivates a Co-kieselguhr catalyst. All these oxides deactivate, a Co-clay catalyst.
