Abstract

Minisci-type reactions offer a direct and versatile approach to C–C bond formation on basic heteroarenes: molecules of importance in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. In 2018, our group reported an enantioselective variant of this reaction, enabled by the use of a chiral phosphoric acid (CPA) catalyst. This allowed the addition of nucleophilic, prochiral N-Ac-α-amino radicals to quinolines and pyridines with high levels of regio- and enantiocontrol.
