Abstract

Abstract The iron(III) ion in H-mordenite was found to act as a very strong oxidizing agent. It accelerates the conversion of alkyl acetate into alkene and acetic acid by withdrawing an electron from the coordinated alkyl acetate. It also oxidizes water into proton and oxygen, and benzene into benzene radical cation.
