Abstract
The hydrogenation, ofα-acetylaminocinnamic acid under homogeneous conditions in the presence of the system (Py)3RhCl3·NaBH4·(S)-(-)-N-α-phenylethylformamide gives (R)-(-)-acetylphenylalanine in a yield of 66.2% and an optical yield of 73.8%.
