Abstract
Several μ-alkylthiolato- and μ-arylthiolato-μ-chloro-dicarbonylbis(tri-t-butylphosphine) dirhodium complexes, Rh 2(CO) 2(P[C(CH 3) 3]3) 2(μ-Cl)(μ-SR) 3 – 8, were shown to be effective catalysts for hydrogenation, hydroformylation and isomerization of olefins. Silica-attached versions of these complexes, in which the sulfur was linked to the support by a (CH 2) n SiO 3 ( n = 2, 3) bridge, could be recycled for use in further runs. Both the homogeneous and the heterogenized catalysts were shown to retain the dinuclear structure during and after the catalytic processes.
