Abstract

The catalytic activity of Ca-containing ZSM-5 type zeolite catalysts in the coupled reforming of methanol and the propane-butane fraction is reported. Modification of the high-silica catalyst with Ga or Ga + Pt causes, as the process temperature is raised, an increase in the propane-butane fraction conversion and in the arene yield. This behavior of the modified catalysts is due to the changes in their porous structure and acid properties and to the increase in their methanol and propane adsorption capacities.
