Abstract

Heterogeneous compositions capable of activating C-H and C-C bonds in alkanes under mild conditions have been obtained by reacting metal oxides with various morphologies with “metal solutions” prepared by metal vapor condensation. The physicochemical analysis carried out in this study suggests that the metal particles in these catalysts are mostly nanosized. The catalytic properties of the compositions have been investigated in the hydroreforming of C5-C16n-alkanes. These compositions can be used to obtain promising catalysts for the structural conversion of n-alkanes into environmentally friendly high-octane gasoline and lubricants.
