Abstract

This article is the first installment of the fourth part of the “Catalogue of Greek Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts in the Collections of the United States of America.” The first three parts were published in Manuscripta 49 (2005): 165–245, Manuscripta 50 (2006): 21–76, and Manuscripta 51 (2007): 61–130. This installment includes twelve catalogue entries – nine for Greek manuscripts and three for Coptic/Greek manuscripts from the collection of the Morgan Library and Museum. All Greek manuscripts and two of the three Coptic/Greek manuscripts are illuminated. Catalogue entries describe and analyze three Gospel manuscripts (M.340, M.378, and M.423); an Anastasimatarion and Anthology with late Byzantine notation (M.350); a miscellany of narratives and fables (M.397); a chrysobull issued by the emperor Andronicus II Palaiologos (M.398); an amulet roll (M.499); two lectionaries (M.639 and M.647); and three Coptic/Greek manuscripts and fragments executed in the Fayyum region of Egypt (M.574, M.597, and M.615).
