Abstract

Recently, several designs have been reported for the adhesive bridge preparation for posterior teeth. Most of these designs are usually based on the principle not to grind the teeth. It may be, therefore, considered that the adhesive bridge constructed according to such designs would be liable to fail in service if it is applied to improperly selected cases or the adhesive procedure is inadequately performed. We designed a new type of adhesive bridge for posterior teeth which involves the necessary preparation on the limited region of enamel around the coronals. It was named Cast Ring Bridge. The Cast Ring Bridge was applied to more than 100 cases during 18 months and it was successful for most of the cases except for 2 cases in which the bridge fell off. The design of the Cast Ring Bridge and its applications for several cases in clinics are presented in this report.
