Abstract
As Cassini moves through its Equinox Mission and looks toward the Cassini Solstice Mission (CSM), the Attitude and Articulation Control Subsystem (AACS) Fault Protection (FP) strategy has evolved to meet changing mission goals and hardware conditions. The focus on preserving hardware and consumables has lead to the rst logic change in the Cassini AACS Flight Software (FSW) in over 5 years. Spacecraft health and safety are routinely monitored and analyzed to detect and trend anomalous activity. FP parameters are actively managed to preserve the eectiveness of the AACS FP design. This paper will examine the AACS FP approach for long term ight operations.
