Abstract

The paper aims to present typical values of the new PDI indicator for different lighting situations, road widths, typological selection of luminaires with different optics and first of all - different lamp types comprising also low-performing mercury lamps (for illustrative purposes) through standard high-pressure sodium lamps or metal halide lamps up to the recent LED technologies used in road lighting. Case studies presented in the paper illustrate the application of the PDI system for real installations recently undergoing refurbishment.
