Abstract

Alprazolam belongs to the class of benzodiazepine and is a psychoactive short-acting drug that causes anxiolytic, hypnotic, and anticonvulsant influence. It is widely used in the diagnosis of insomnia, sleeplessness and psychotic disorders. Losartan is a blocker of angiotensin II (ARB) receptors that relaxes the blood vessels. This is used along with high blood pressure to reduce the risk of stroke, and is widely used to decrease high blood pressure. Here we record a case of the alleged ingestion by a 36-year-old male of two different tablets Alprazolam 1 mg in ten numbers and Losartan 50 mg fifteen tablets with self-harming intent. Patient was treated using normal detoxification and supportive care procedures.
