Abstract

This case study explains the implementation of the five core values defined by the Tourism Education Futures Initiative (TEFI) into an undergraduate program in tourism and hospitality management. The case study creates a model for writing learning objectives, creating instructional modules, and defining assessment tools. Learning objectives were written for each core value and integrated into each class within the curriculum. The bases of the learning objectives, as well as the appropriate type of instructional modules, were extracted from the core values' descriptions. Assessment tools were created to evaluate student learning. The goal of this case study is to present a model that describes how the TEFI set of defined core values might be integrated into a tourism and hospitality management curriculum.
