Abstract
Introduction: Rectal bleeding is a common cause of chronic bleeding in hospitals. It can lead to anemia and affect a person's quality of life. To treat chronic hemorrhoidal disease, rectal artery embolization is safe, efficient, and minimally invasive, allowing for arterial rectal embolization. In this case report, we aimed to present a rectal bleeding case that has been well managed by using transcatheter arterial embolization. Case Presentation: A 20-year-old male patient came with complaints of haematochezia and anemia that had been felt for 2 days. The patient came to the emergency department of Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital, and lab tests and vital signs were carried out, which resulted in a hemoglobin of around 2.5 g/dl and a significantly decreased blood pressure of 95/65mmHg. If necessary, the patient was referred to interventional radiology for digital subtraction angiography and embolization. Conclusion: Transcatheter arterial embolization is an effective treatment option. It has few side effects, causes minimal blood loss, and shortens hospital stays.
