Abstract

AbstractA case of xerosis following treatment with dipivefrin hydrochloride is described. The ultrastructural features of the conjunctival biopsy specimen revealed changes in the microvilli: loss and decrease in their height. These findings were similar to sicca syndrome. This side effect is very rare. An associated decrease in tear secretion was treated with tear substitutes.
