Abstract

The incidence of lameness in sheep in the UK is high in many flocks, often as a permanent and grumbling problem. This article describes a sudden, severe outbreak of lameness in finishing lambs that affected many animals over a few days. The clinical signs, differential diagnosis and management of the case are outlined, and the use of whole-flock treatment with antibiotics is discussed.
