Abstract

Summary Acid stimulation has been used successfully in the Mystery Creek leases in the TR field, Fryburg zone of the Mission Canyon formation in western North Dakota. The Fryburg zone is a carbonate reservoir consisting of alternating layers of limestone and dolomite. Since 1982, the Fryburg wells have undergone an acid-stimulation program that has resulted in substantial increases in oil and gas production.
