Abstract
Cascading failure forecast of complex power grids is the premise of revealing the propagation mechanism of power system blackouts, keeping cascading failures from wantonly spreading and developing early preventive strategies against cascading failures. This paper summarizes the existing cascading failure forecast methods, and introduces the application of pattern search method, model method and risk evaluation method to cascading failure forecast of power grids in detail. Finally, the paper proposes the future research direction of cascading failure forecast of complex grids according to the present research.
