Abstract

This chapter discusses the various recent judgments by state courts or international courts related to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). It also seeks to determine the role of the CAS - and its relationship with other arbitral or state tribunals, including administrative or criminal tribunals that decide sports-related cases. The chapter looks at several important awards rendered by the CAS in recent years - both from a procedural and a substantive point of view. It also reviews certain judgments by European Court of Human Rights and other courts and their impact on CAS.
