Abstract
AbstractCoherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) is a powerful analysis approach for nonintrusive temperature and species measurements in hostile environments. Widely utilized in combustion, it may be able to significantly impact materials processing research. CARS is described and its applications to combustion and plasma process environments are reviewed and contrasted.
