Abstract

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), compressive lesion of the median nerve at the wrist, is the most world widely prevalent entrapment neuropathy. There are current therapeutic tools available, including conservative measures (e.g. manual splints, local corticosteroids injections or systemic corticosteroid therapy, etc) and surgical intervention on carpal transverse ligament. Current scientific data regarding improvement related to conservative measures are still conflicted, despite several studies support clinical improvement on pain scales, more objective data regarding electrophysiologic parameter still lack on literature.
