Abstract

AbstractThe carotenoid pattern of Chrysomyxa infected spruce needles is investigated over one vegetation period. The rust fungus contains β‐carotene and γ‐carotene, and the quantity of both carotenes depends on the ontogeny of the fungus. The pigments of spruce needles are generally diminished.
