Abstract

Hemodynamically significant obstruction to LV outflow occurs in all of the lesions discussed. If untreated, critical obstruction can result in severe CHF and acidosis, leading to death. Surgical correction can be achieved in most of these lesions. Outcomes can be affected through preoperative management aimed at effectively treating CHF and acidosis and through appropriate surgical management to restore adequate systemic outflow.
