Aziz Sheikh and Abdul Rashid Gatrad are the editors of a book that I believe should be essential reading for every nurse. Caring for Muslim Patients not only provides the reader with insight into the basics of Islamic culture, but also takes the reader through many complex issues such as ‘Health and disease: an Islamic framework’ and ‘Caring for the fasting patient’.
