Abstract

We determine the relationship between dental caries in pre-school children and the oral health knowledge of mothers in Alto Salaverry Educational Institution in 2017, correlation study in 110 pre-school children and their respective mothers, the data was collected in the clinical examination and the application of a survey. To establish the relationship of the variables, square Chi was used with p <0.05. The relationship between dental caries in preschoolers and mothers oral health knowledge was significant. Dental caries in preschoolers is 68%; the oral health knowledge of mothers is deficient in 31%, regular in 28%, good in 25% and very good in 16%. It was concluded that: dental caries in preschool children was related to mothers' oral health knowledge.
