Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between overall job satisfaction and the five task dimensions of skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, and feedback-from-job for workers at different stages of their careers. Basically, it was found that the relationships between job satisfaction and each of the task dimensions fluctuate significantly according to the career stage of the sample individuals. The implications of these findings for job enrichment programs as well as for the management of employees are subsequently discussed.
