Abstract
Objective To investigate the methods for quality management of PICC catheter placement in general hospitals.Metheds Quality management units for PICC were established,relevant roles,regulations,and guidelines were set up,and the standards for PICC catheter operation and maintenance were improved.Care consultation and intervention were performed in 276 patients from the departments of oncology,hematology,neurology,and neurosurgery.Results The success rate of one-time puncture,was enhanced,the incidence of complications was reduced,the catheter placement was prolonged, and the suffering due to repeated venipuneture was relieved,and the nursing quality was improved.Conclusions Effective quality management of PICC catheter placement is the key to prevent complications and to improve patient compliance.
